Yes… finally I saw linux with qtmoko running on m800… Keyboard is not running, but all this is promising.

Finally I could see a linux kernel booting on my eten glofiish m800. It was not my work, I downloaded the kernel from http://build.shr-project.org/shr-unstable/images/eten-m800/ and booted with haret-0.5.2

I downloaded the latest version of Iris browser (version 1.1.7). Unfortunately I had bad experience with this new version as I was not able to load a large wiki page, due to “out of memory” error.
I turned back to the older version I had installed (from 14 July 2008, do not know the version number) and the same page could be load.

at least, I hope they will reuse the arm machine number… or they reuse the openmoko number?

Check periodically eten-users.eu site to check for forum posts about new rom. Download the zip/rar and unpack it. Copy the temp.datfile to it to your temp file  document and settings dir (C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp) and start the EUUs.exe program and follow the indications. If you do not copy the file to the temp dir, the EUU.exe will not find the rom.

Well, I did not do it, but it is possible:

As I was writing here, my eten m800 is defect, but the bad news is I will have to stay without it more than 1 month, as it’s home country is more than very far from here…

Update: a friend of mine has received his eten m800 with defect. So in my friends-circle, 3 eten m800, and all had a very short life!!!!

With great disappointment, I have to recognize that the Eten Glofiish M800 has quite high failure rate. Why do I say that? Because my Eten m800 has ceased to work. To be more precise the GSM driver cannot load and after a few minutes the entire phone freezes. Nor reinstalling the ROM nor upgrading does help… Oh… just to support my theory…. my friends devices (the same M800) has completely died few days ago… his one does not boot anymore… So 2 devices the same type crashing after 3 months of usage… I WANT MY MONEY BACK…
